COMMUNITY
A monthly gathering in Reading for people to play, listen, learn and make music together.
Didgeridoo · Handpan · Djembe · Flute · Voice · Percussion · and more

This is an open community for anyone interested in world music, unusual instruments and making music with other people. You don’t need to play didgeridoo, and you don’t need any particular level of musical experience.
Come along to jam, learn something new, share something you know, try an instrument you’ve never played before, or just spend some time around people who like making interesting sounds.
Some people arrive knowing exactly what they’re doing. Others arrive having never held a didgeridoo before. Both are completely fine.
If you’d like to learn didgeridoo, we can help you get started with the basics too.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Second Friday of each month · 7pm–10pm · £5
Rising Sun Arts Centre, 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST
Feel free to arrive or leave at any point.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The aim is to create a place where musicians and curious people can actually meet each other.
People swap techniques, share music and events, learn from one another, start collaborations and occasionally end up involved in things they had absolutely no intention of getting involved in when they walked through the door.
That’s part of what I like about it.
It’s a monthly jam, but hopefully it’s also somewhere people can find musicians, friendships, ideas and a wider community around making music.
Not in Reading?
I also share other didgeridoo gatherings, festivals and community events that I’m involved with, both here and on the Events page.
